Privacy Policy

Modern Shaadi built the Modern Shaadi service as a commercial app. This service is provided by Modern Shaadi and is intended for use as is. This page explains what information the service collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with.

By using the service, you agree to the collection and use of information in line with this policy. We use personal information only to provide and improve the service, and we do not use or share it with anyone except as described here.

Information you enter

The details and photo you add while making a biodata are saved in your web browser, on your own device. They are not sent to our servers while you build your biodata, unless you import one or pay for one (see below). Clearing your browser data removes them from your device.

Biodatas you pay for

When you pay for a biodata, we store that biodata and its photo on our servers (Google Firebase, in India). We use it to make the PDF and image you download, to let you download it again later, and to keep the details you paid for. We don’t share it or show it to anyone else. To have it deleted, email us at support@modernshaadi.com; we delete it within 7 days, after which it can no longer be downloaded again.

Your mobile number

Before paying, you confirm your mobile number with a one-time code sent by SMS through Google Firebase Authentication. We keep the number so your purchases are saved to it and you can get your biodatas back on another phone. We use it only for this and to help you if you contact us; it is never printed on your biodata unless you add it yourself, and we don’t share it or use it for marketing. We also pass it to Razorpay so you don’t have to type it again when paying.

Importing an existing biodata

If you choose to import an existing biodata (pasted text, a PDF, a photo, or a Word file), its contents are sent to our server and processed by OpenAI to read the details and, if you ask, translate them. Word files are converted to text on your device first. We do not keep the file or text after reading it. OpenAI processes it under its API terms; see the OpenAI Privacy Policy.

To prevent misuse of importing, your device is given an anonymous sign-in (Google Firebase Authentication) and we count how many imports it makes each day. This sign-in does not include your name, email or phone number.

Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not see or store your card, UPI or bank details. See the Razorpay Privacy Policy.

Third-party services

The service uses these providers, which may process information to deliver their part of it:

• Google Firebase: website hosting, anonymous sign-in and server functions
• OpenAI: reading imported biodatas
• Razorpay: payments
• Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity: understanding how the site is used (see below)

Analytics

To understand how the site is used and where it can be easier, we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity on this website. They record things like the pages you visit, the buttons you tap, how far you scroll, the kind of device and browser, and your approximate location (city or region). Clarity can also make recordings of how a page is used, such as clicks and scrolling.

We don't send your name, mobile number or biodata details to them, and we hide the biodata preview, the details you type, phone numbers and imported biodatas from these recordings. They are not used on the admin pages. Both services use cookies. You can block them in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out add-on. Cookies and local storage

Cookies are small files commonly used as anonymous identifiers. The service saves your draft biodata in your browser's local storage so your work is kept between visits. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity use cookies to recognise repeat visits (see Analytics above), and other third-party code used by the service may use cookies to operate. You can refuse cookies in your browser, but some parts of the service may then not work.

Service providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to help provide the service, provide it on our behalf, perform service-related tasks, or help us understand how it is used. They have access to personal information only to perform these tasks for us and must not disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Security

We use commercially reasonable means to protect your personal information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Links to other sites

The service may contain links to other websites. We do not operate these sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices or policies, so we recommend reading their privacy policies.

Children's privacy

The service is not intended for anyone under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we delete it promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and know that your child has given us personal information, please contact us so we can take the necessary action.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page, so please review it periodically. This policy is effective as of 24 September 2026.
